Holiday Part 2 - Germany

The flight from Singapore to Germany was 13 hours and Sebastian was perfect, he slept most of the way and was only woken up by another baby crying! It was very exciting when we arrived in Germany, Uwe's family were thrilled to meet Sebastian. He was an instant hit and he enjoyed all the attention from everyone.

Sunny day in Wuerzburg

The 26th of April was Richard's 80th birthday and it was a very busy day, lots of visitors stopped by to wish him a happy birthday.  Of course, Sebastian was the centre of attention as well and even made it into the local newspaper with his Grandpa.

Christian, Tanya, Casper and Clara invited us out to visit the wildlife park in Bad Mergentheim and Sebastian had a ball.  He loved patting the goats (actually pulling their tails) and loved going on a swing for the first time.

Sebastian loved playing the piano with Grandma

Uwe invited some friends over for a BBQ and it was great to catch up with everyone. There was plenty to eat and all the adults and kids had a great time.

We visited Guido and Lena in Nuremburg and they showed us all the sights of this old town. First we enjoyed some lunch and beers (obviously!) and then we walked up to the castle.

Holiday Part 1 - Singapore

Our flight to Singapore left Sydney early in the morning.  We were all excited and Uwe and I wondered how Sebastian would go on the flight.  He was brilliant.  We had passengers walking past and commenting how well behaved he was and that they didn't even realise there was a baby on the plane.  He slept very well in his bassinet and was a hit with everyone.  We had 2 days in Singapore.  It was very hot and the only way to cool down was to go for a swim. Unfortunately I got sick while we were there and we didn't get a chance to do alot.

Easter

We spent most of the Easter long weekend out and about. We went down to Bondi Beach for breakfast and stopped at the Bavarian Beer Cafe for a quick refreshment.  Uwe just loves teasing me about giving Sebastian a beer to drink!  We also went down to Watsons Bay and Sebastian played for a while in the sand. Uwe also went in the water for a swim but it was too cold for me. It was a great long weekend.

Seb - 6 months old

Seb will blow you kisses, blow raspberries and will now poke out his tongue. He is so lovable, he will give you so many cuddles and tries to give you kisses on your cheek. He pinches and scratches your face and loves to pull hair out. He can now sit up on his own, a big milestone for him. He still doesn't have any teeth yet. He will hold his own bottle of milk and doesn't like it when you try to give him a break. He loves going swimming. He's very active, always moving around and almost crawling. He will roll from one side of the room to the other. He is a great sleeper. And he loves going to the football with mummy and daddy to watch the swans play.

March 2011

There have certainly been alot happening this last month. The most significant would have been Sebastians hospital visits. The first one was when we were in Brisbane at the end of February. He started vomiting badly until his vomit turned green and he was floppy and lifeless. At the hospital they did an ultrasound and put a drip in and the outcome was a problem with his bowel that had corrected itself while we were there. Then at the end of March, the same symptoms happened again. This time at the hospital, we ended up staying 2 nights before we were allowed to go home. Seb had a drip put in and a nose tube that emptied his stomach and we weren't allowed to feed him the first night. That was the worst night of my life, listening to our son cry because he was hungry and not being able to feed him. We left the hospital with no answers to why Seb was so sick. It wasn't until the next day when he was vomiting again we worked out he has a food intolerance to rice. Its a rare condition and there might be more foods he can't tolerate, but for now we are certainly avoiding feeding him rice!! Seb also turned 6 months! Can't believe how quick the time has gone. Uwe and I also celebrated our first wedding anniversary.
