Fire Brigade Open Day

Our local fire station had an open day where you could come and look around the fire station and hop inside the fire engine.  Needless to say, the kids had a ball checking everything out.

Uwe spent the week in Perth and we missed him terribly.  The kids were excited to go to the airport to pick him up.

Mogo Zoo

We spent the morning at Mogo zoo, the kids had a wonderful time and loved seeing all the animals.  We got a rare treat from the lion in the morning, she came right up to the fence and was within 30 centimeters from us and she roared, loudly.  Poor Hannah was so scared she started crying but Sebastian was fascinated.  We ventured around the zoo, fed the deers some food, loved watching the rare white lions and waited to feed the giraffes. They weren't hungry, so we didn't get to feed them this time.

Road Trip

Our road trip down to Mogo began early, our first stop was morning tea just before Wollongong.  The kids had a babycino and cookies and Uwe had a coffee.  We kept driving and then stopped at the gorgeous country town of Berry.  The kids played in the playground for a while and we had some pies and sausage rolls in the bakery before setting off again.  We made it to Mogo in the early afternoon and had a look around before heading to Batemans Bay where we were staying the night.  We took the kids for their first round of mini golf, the same place Uwe and I played at 7 years ago.  The kids had fun and I loved watching them play.  Sebastian did a great job of hitting the ball into the holes but Hannah had more fun pushing the ball with her hands and then dropping the ball into the holes.  She had her own style of playing.

We go to this playground after we pick Sebastian up from preschool.  They love to just run around on the grass, climb trees and go on the swings and slides.  Always fun.
