Ayers Rock

After our wedding, we took Uwes parents and niece to the middle of Australia to show them the outback. We wanted to show them there was nothing much out there and the red and brown colours of the land. Instead, we found an outstanding amount of green vegetation and lots of blooming trees. There had been an amazing amount of rain over the past few months which had changed the landscape dramatically. All the rain also brought alot of flies. We needed to buy some nets to cover our heads, which were extremely stylish!! We visited the Olgas first, they were named after a German princess from Wuertenberg. Then we walked around the base of Ayers Rock which took us about 2 and a half hours. This was our first extended Schlagmueller family trip.
