Frankfurt
We drove up to Frankfurt today because I had to go to the Australian consulate so I could vote in the election. While we were there, we also went to the Senckenberg museum to see the dinosaurs and mammoth skeletons. Needless to say, the kids loved it!!

Around Neubrunn
After the road trip we spent a quite day around Neubrunn. The kids enjoyed spending time at the garden with Oma and Opa, picking all the fresh fruit and vegetables. Sebastian loved helping in the garden, picking the raspberries and helping with the asparagus. Check out the giant zucchinis, so delicious.

Road Trip - Part 2 Munich and the Mountains
The next morning, we headed to Munich Zoo. We loved seeing all the animals especially the giraffes, elephants, polar bears, flamingos, rhinos and the lions. We even got to watch the elephants have a bath and the lions eating their dinner.
We stayed in a house in Starnberg overnight and the kids loved playing in the backyard, there was a sand pit and swing, so they were happy. We visited the lake and had a swim in the freezing cold water, it was very refreshing as it was so hot outside.
We then headed south to the mountains. The first night we stayed in Hopfen am see, right by the lake. Uwe braved the cold water this time with the kids, briefly, just to cool off from the heat. We had dinner and ice cream by the lake.
We headed to Füssen the next morning, on our way to Neuschwanstein Castle. I had been to the castle 11 years ago and was excited to show the kids how beautiful it is. We caught the bus up as far as we could and then walked 15 minutes before we got to the castle. It was so beautiful and the kids loved seeing it.

After seeing the castle, we headed to Tegelberg gondola and went up the mountain. It was amazing view from the top and we loved watching all the parachuters jump off the mountain.
We spent the next couple of days visiting friends before heading home.
